Berdoll, Marie

Marie Dey Berdoll, age 95, of Gresham, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at a local nursing home. Born on May 1, 1915, in Clintonville, she was the daughter of the late William and Helena (Schultz) Schwenke. On August 25, 1932 Marie was united in marriage to August E. Dey, Jr. The couple had three children and farmed in the Town of Herman. August preceded her in death on June 5, 1974. On August 2, 1980 Marie married Conrad H. Berdoll, he preceded her in death on May 17, 2002. She was a member of Elias Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for 14 years. She had worked at Maple Lane Health Care Facility for ten years. Marie is survived by three children, Elizabeth (Otto) Giese of Bowler, Marlin (Darlene) Dey of Gresham, and Vernon (Delores) Dey of Gillett; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Lyle (Selma) Schwenke of Shawano. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, her parents, one sister, and one grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Elias Lutheran church in the Town of Herman with Rev. Doug Heling officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called at the Swedberg funeral home in Gresham on Sunday from 4-7pm and again on Monday at the church from 10 am until the time of services.
