Grancorbitz, Harold

Harold L. “Granny” Grancorbitz, 86, of Oshkosh, died Saturday July 31, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on April 4, 1924, in Weyauwega, a son of Leo and Elsie Prahl Grancorbitz. On August 27, 1949 he married Velda Leupold in Weyauwega. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. He was owner/operator of Granny’s Grocery, Granny’s Distributing Company and The Rail. He also worked at Badger Oldsmobile and Bergstrom Automotive. He enjoyed bowling and watching the three major sports. He is survived by his wife, Velda of Oshkosh, two sons, Gary (girlfriend Robin) Grancorbitz of Waupaca, Jeff (Sonia) Grancorbitz of New Berlin, one brother, LeRoy (Arleen) Grancorbitz of Oshkosh, two sisters, Romona Haight of Manawa, Shirley (Tony) Opperman of Hobesound, FL., two grandchildren, Jenna, Nicole, and one brother-in-law, Lavern(Pat) Leupold. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Melvin (Lorna), two sisters, Virginia (Bill) Trantow, Delores Grancorbitz, two brothers-in-law, Leland Patri, Jim Haight, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha and Louis Leupold. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Berg and Rev. Nathan Ericson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 5, 2010 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be performed. A memorial has been established to the Roof Fund at Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
