Carey, Phyllis E.
Age 103, of New London, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at
St. Joseph Residence. Phyllis was born on April 25, 1907, in Clintonville daughter of the late Harry and Nettie (Strong) Frederick. She was formerly of Sherwood, Appleton and also Brillion; where she owned and operated a restaurant and gas station for 10 years, she has since been a resident of New London. She was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Phyllis was also a member of the Royal Neighbors, Sr. Sodality and Five Hundred Marathon Card Club which she enjoyed playing with her friends. She is survived by two daughter in-laws, Virginia Berg and Donna Westgor; a step-daughter, Glenna(Donald) Morawek; sisters, Delores (Wilmer) Witt. Grandchildren: Kristine Miller, Sarah Whipperman, and Douglas Morawek, Frances Horn, Wendy Helms, Becky (Randy) Tress and Abby Baker. Great grandchildren: Bruce and Kevin Horn; Rachel Helms and Sheyla (Chad) Meyer, Jake (Melissa) and Amanda Tress and Mara (Keenon) Hardy, and Brooklyn Baker. Numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, George P. Westgor, 2nd husband, Clifford Carey, a son Chester Duane Westgor, a brother, Wilbur Frederick and sisters, Alice Lockman, Johanna (John) Underwood and Cece Thomas.
Funeral services for Phyllis were held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Residence Chapel, New London. Burial will be in the Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Visitation was held at St. Joseph from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. Joseph Residence and Heartland Hospice. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home 209 W.
