Waupaca man charged with sexual assault

Christopher C. King, Waupaca, was charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child.

In 2007, a young girl reported that King had touched her inappropriately, then she told investigators that she must have dreamed that it happened, according to the criminal complaint.

In August, the girl told investigators with Child Protective Services and the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department that King told her to say that. She accused him of assaulting her 10-12 times.

When initially interviewed by Detective Sgt. John Mocadlo and a child protective agent, King denied touching the girl.

On Sept. 2, however, King told Mocadlo that he did “do some bad things” to the girl, but not all of them and it was not 10-12 times, but four or five times, according to the criminal complaint.

King faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault of a child.
