Saints Peter and Paul Knights of Columbus, in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Knights of Columbus, invite all boys and girls ages 8-12 to participate in a Punt, Pass and Kick contest.
The contest will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Sept. 25, at the Weyauwega-Fremont High School athletic complex. Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
There is no cost to participate and no equipment such as uniforms, balls or kicking tees are required. All equipment will be provided.
Students can pick up a registration form at the Fremont Elementary or Weyauwega Elementary school offices. Competitors are asked to have their registration form filled out prior to arrival.
First-place male and female finishers in each age group will move on to the next level of competition in October.
Rules and regulations are:
? The Wisconsin Knights of Columbus Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition is open to all grade and junior high school boys and girls ages 8-12 in the state of Wisconsin. Each entrant must be prepared to furnish legal proof of his or her age. Seven-year-olds that will reach their eighth birthday by Aug. 31 of the present contest year may compete. A 12-year-old boy or girl who becomes 13 on or before Aug. 31 of the present contest year will not be eligible.
? There is no cost, nor is a purchase required of any boy or girl, parent or sponsor to enter or compete.
? Contestants must register on official entry forms with the local council. Each entrant’s parent or legal guardian must countersign the official entry form.
? Each contestant may enter only once. Anyone who participates in more that one local competition will be disqualified.
? Contestants ages 8-11 will use a junior-sized football for the competition. Contestants age 12 will compete with a regulation-sized football.
? Contestants are not allowed to use a resin or any “stick-um” type substance for better grip.
? Sneakers (tennis shoes) are recommended for all competitors. Boots or any football- or soccer-style shoes are not permitted.
? Each boy or girl will compete in three categories: punting, passing and kicking (using a kicking tee).
