Parenting program offered

A program to help parents control their children’s behavior is slated for 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, at the Waupaca Family Resource Center, 500 School St.

The program 1-2-3 Magic and More is based on behavioral management techniques developed by Dr. Thomas Phelan. It provides a guideline for parenting children ages 2 to 12, with tips for decreasing unwanted behavior and encouraging children to do what parents want them to do.

Marilyn Herman, the family living specialist with the University of Wisconsin Extension office in Waupaca County, will lead the program.

Participants should attend both sessions. Enter back door by parking lot behind the Waupaca School District Business office.

Free child care will be available for children age 2 and older.

Registration is available by calling 715-256-1621 and leaving a message, or sending an e-mail to [email protected] with information on the number of adults and children attending, name, address, phone and any allergies the children may have.
