Rice, Lois

Lois Rice, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010 at home. She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on January 2, 1927, the daughter of Elmer and Clara (Schacht) Patefield.

She married Ralph Rice on May 28, 1949 in Merrill, WI. Ralph preceded her in death on November 29, 2006. She is survived by her children: Kathy (Dave) Barnhart, Waupaca; Jon (Lily) Rice, Waupaca; Timmy *Ralph* (Judy) Rice, Waupaca; Tom Rice, New York; Wendy (Robert *Bear*) Graves, De Pere; son-in-law Bob Sivertsen, Grandchildren: Jacci Barnhart; Robyn (Randy) Henke; Matthew Rice; Ryan (Drena) Sivertsen; Jennifer (Patrick) Casper; Jennifer Rice; Adrienne Rice; Tristan Rice; Jeff (Ann) Graves; Mark (Jody) Graves, Candy (Randy) Sampo, Tim Graves, and Thirteen Great Grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters, Muffy (Walter) Maas, Alvera (Clifford) Lupton, Marlene (Jim) Borelli and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, daughter Jody Sivertsen, grandson Kurt Graves, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Our dear Mother gave of herself to every person whose life she touched. Lois will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who lived life with integrity, courage, a sense of humor, and a generous spirit. Despite living with Alzheimer’s Disease for the last 10 years her reservoir of love, laughter and caring kept overflowing. Lois was a triumphant example of a person who truly knew the value of family and friendship, and who put aside all judgment to share her unconditional love. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. A private graveside service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery, King. WI. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home is assisting the family.
