The Lady Trucker varsity volleyball team lost to the Xavier Hawks in four sets on Thursday, Oct. 7.
The scores were 24-26, 25-23, 11-25, and 23-25.
Brittany Hoffman tallied 10 kills for Clintonville, while Stacy Reinke added seven kills, four ace kills and 11 digs. Karena Schroeder notched 19 digs and Nikki Kautz contributed 27 assists and four ace serves.
“The girls played really well tonight despite the loss. Xavier is a very good team but we stayed right there with them for most of the match,” said Coach Katie Ripley. “The Truckers played hard, were focused and you could see on their faces that they wanted the win bad. It was so fun watching them play the way they did. However, poor passing and more than usual ball handling errors were the cause of the outcome. The girls want to keep that level of ball going and move forward from this loss to be successful next week and into the tournament.”
