The Waupaca Area Public Library will offer patrons an opportunity to clear fines during a food drive the week of Oct. 18-23.
“We will accept nonperishable food items in lieu of cash to pay overdue fees,” said library director Peg Burington.
For each item donated, the library will waive $1 from patrons’ accounts. All donations, which must be in cans or sealed boxes, will be given to the Waupaca Area Food Pantry.
The food pantry especially needs juices, baked beans, vegetables, pasta meals and canned meats.
