NL Volleyball takes 8th at conference

The Bulldog girls’ fought hard in many matches but came up short at the Bay Conference Tournament hosted by the Oconto Falls Panthers.

New London started the day out falling to Denmark 14-25 and 8-25. Next they fell to Shawano 8-25 and 12-25 in pool play.

In other matches New London beat Marinette 25-13 and 25-18 then fell in a close hard fought match against West De Pere 12-25, 25-17 and 8-15.

Taylor Williams had 40 digs, 4 service aces; Emily Gorges 16 attack kills, 9 digs; Mackenzi Steinert 13 assists, 4 service aces; Lexy Zaddack 26 assists, 9 digs.Oconto Falls finished first in the tournament & shares the overall conference championship with Denmark. The Bulldogs traveled to Waupaca Tuesday for the regional opener. Watch next week’s County Post East for results.

Hortonville places fifth at conference

Hortonville placed fifth in the tournament falling in pool play to Luxemburg-Casco two games to none. They beat Marinette two games to none. This placed the Polar Bears in silver pool where they beat Shawano two games to none and then lost to Seymour one game to two. Hortonville travels to Ashwaubenon Thursday, Oct. 21 for the regional opener.

DEPERE – New London earned a hard fought battled win over the Phantoms Tuesday, Oct. 12. The Bulldogs fell in the first two games 14-25, 16-25 and then rallied back for the victory in the last three winning 25-18, 25-17 and 15-8. Leaders were Taylor Williams with 14 digs, 2 assists; Emily Gorges 11 attack kills, 6 digs; Lexy Zaddack 12 assists; Kelsey Fassbender 6 digs, 8 assists.
