Poeschl to speak on school funding

Dr. David Poeschl, district administrator of the Waupaca School District, will discuss school funding at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.

The funding formula for Wisconsin public schools has undergone many changes over the past several years, resulting in unintended consequences for schools and taxpayers. The program will give a brief history of the relationship between property taxes and state aids in the school district of Waupaca.

Poeschl has been Waupaca’s district administrator since 1992. He has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in instrumental music from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a master’s and doctoral degree in educational administration from UW-Madison.

Sponsored by Winchester Academy, the program is free and open to the public. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 6 p.m.
