Chamber announces award-winning businesses

The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce (CACC) held their 100th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on Monday, Oct. 18.

A crowd of nearly 200 people helped celebrate the past, present and future of the Chamber. Here are a few highlights from the evening:

Dan Gast Awarded Service Plaque

Sandy Yaeger, CACC Director, awarded Dan Gast a service plaque for his tenure as Chamber Board of Director President for the past year. Dan has served on the Board of Directors for six years. His Board term will expire as of Dec. 31, 2010. Dan is currently the Vice President & Branch Manager of M&I Bank, 60 10th St., Clintonville.

Candi Huber named Ambassador of the Year

Candi Huber, Schutt Industries, was named the Ambassador of the Year. The Ambassador club is a group of volunteers who promote goodwill within the business community, officially represent the Chamber and its mission and goals and supports the members by involvement in memberships and activities. Candi was selected because of her tremendous volunteering and support to the Club as well as the Chamber as a whole. Sandy says “She is always willing to help with anything and is my greatest supporter. She also makes a great looking chicken!”

Schutt Industries earns Business of the Year

Business of the Year award was presented to Schutt Industries. The award is given to a business that best exemplifies a positive image in keeping with the spirit of the Clintonville Chamber’s efforts to portray a favorable business climate in the community. The award is voted on by members of the Chamber prior to the annual meeting.

Clintonville Chronicle earns New Business of the Year

For the second consecutive year the Clintonville Chronicle was voted the New Business of the Year. The award is given to a business less than two years old, one that fills a need in the community, shows signs of longevity and portrays a significant level of community support. This award is also voted on by members of the Chamber prior to the annual meeting.

New 2010 Chamber Members

New Chamber members for 2010 include Bumps, Element Mobile, First Class Travel, Marion Civic Group, ServiceMaster Cleaning & Restoration, St. Martin Lutheran Church & School and Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation.

Other Highlights

A delicious meal catered by Mathew’s Supper Club followed the 100th Annual Meeting of the Chamber on Monday. During the meeting Board of Directors and Officers were elected. The new Board of Director members for 2011 include Kathy Schmoll, Trophies & Treasures; John Majerus, First State Bank and Tricia Rose, Clintonville Chronicle. The officers include Jodi Zillmer, President, Econofoods; Candi Huber, President-Elect, Schutt Industries; Wendy Pringnitz, Past President, First National Bank; Dayna Conradt, Treasurer, Kerber & Rose; and Jackie Baldwin, Secretary, Chamber of Commerce. Jean Hundertmark, past Executive Director, was recognized during the meeting for her accomplishments during her tenure.
