Fall Fashion Show a success

A check for $5,830 was presented to Bev Bartlett, Outreach Specialist for The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin, Green Bay, on Oct. 15.

It was presented by Jill, Morris, CEO of ARC Angels Senior Home Care, and Amy Thusius; Client Relations Rep. for ARC Angels. ARC Angels and The Alzheimer’s Association both service Shawano County and surrounding areas.

This was the second year ARC Angels Senior Home Care hosted the fundraiser presenting the Shawano community with an invitation to attend the “Forget-Me-Not” Fall Fashion show, dinner and silent auction.

Morris said that part of making an event successful like this one is due to the generosity of our local businesses in their gifts for the silent auction tables as well as attending the event.

Items ranged from a variety of overnight stays, casino packages, dining certificates, grocer gift cards, assorted coffee and gift packages, an Amish quilt among many other selections. New this year was the raffle item of a two burner Weber gas grill donated by Perkins Family Restaurant, Shawano, Perkins displayed the gas grill and sold tickets to generate additional funds.

Local male and female models were chosen who wore fashions from B & H Fashionwear and Footwear, Clintonville, as well as Body Essentials, Shawano. Music styling was provided by Irma Timmons. And, Apple Valley Orchards filled the Shawano Lake Golf Course with fall colors. WTCH provided air time through the Breakfast Club. Thrivent Financial continues to match funds for this event.

All funds raised from this event have been earmarked for the Shawano Dementia Network who provides programs, education, and services to this area while ARC Angels Home Care, a non-medical service, continues to help loved ones of families take care of mom, dad, aunts and uncles in their homes.
