Waupaca man faces firearms charge

Gary L. Jensen, 56, Waupaca, was charged Oct. 18 with six counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

On March 12, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Cameron Durrant and Warden Ted Dremmel executed a search warrant at Jensen’s home in Dayton.

The Wisconsin Department of natural Resources and the Department of Corrections had compiled a list of convicted felons who had purchased gun-deer tags or registered a deer with a gun-deer tag.

Jensen reportedly had six rifles and shotguns in his home. He was convicted of burglary in Shawano County in 1972 and 1982, according to the criminal complaint.

Jensen could serve up to 10 years in prison if convicted of possession of a firearm by a felon.
