Dornfeld to speak at Veterans Day ceremony

A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at the Clintonville Veterans Memorial site on Main St., Thursday, Nov. 11. This year’s guest speaker is Dennis Dornfeld, US Army, Vietnam Veteran.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Judy Magee, an invocation and benediction by Pastor Sylvester Narlock of Calvary Apostolic Church, the singing of the National Anthem by Clintonville High School boys barbershop quartet members Don Pierre, Aaron Pingel, Nathan Jerabek and Colin Moon, music from Rexford-Longfellow Elementary students and special numbers by the Clintonville High School Band. A firing squad salute, the playing of Taps, and the Pledge of Allegiance will also be part of the event.

Refreshments will be provided by Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center following the ceremony.

The community is invited to have lunch at the Clintonville Senior Center (on a donation basis) at noon. Chicken, potato wedges, broccoli w/cheese, million dollar cake, bread and milk will be served. Reservations should be made at least one day in advance by calling 823-7667.

Main Street will be closed from Seventh Street to 12th Street from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the ceremony.
