Weishoff, Loyal E.

Loyal E. Weishoff, age 80, of Cloverleaf Lakes, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2010. Born on February 1, 1930, in Appleton, he is the son of the late Edwin and Laura (Drephal) Weishoff. At age 16, Loyal started driving gravel trucks with his father; he was a graduate of Seymour High School. He was united in marriage to Donna Blom on June 17, 1950. Loyal and Donna owned and operated the Embarrass Sand and Gravel Pit and the Cloverleaf Go Kart Track. Loyal also helped his father with the start up of the Cecil Go Kart track. During the winter months, he worked as a welder at Seagrave (the Four Wheel Drive) in Clintonville. Loyal was an avid outdoorsman and is best known by family and friends for his love of hunting, fishing, and story-telling. He found serenity in the stillness of the woods and its changing seasons. Loyal was able to deer hunt for 66 years in a row and always enjoyed the comradery and challenge of the hunting season up north and in the Cloverleaf Lakes area. He enjoyed many successful seasons of moose hunting in Canada. His many hobbies included: traveling the United States, snowmobiling, go kart racing, shooting pool, bowling, playing cards, collecting antiques and working outside in the woods. Loyal was a mechanic and a carpenter and was always busy fixing or building something. Loyal and Donna often referred to their home of 60 years as “paradise”, where they were able to look onto the lake and watch the variety of wildlife gather on their lawn. In their retirement years, they have also enjoyed the chalet that they built on the waterfront. Loyal is survived by: his wife, Donna; 2 daughters, Jeri Lee (Michael) Montour of Shawano; Jeanne (Michael) Rueckert of Shawano; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Montour of Austin, TX; Richard Montour of Shawano; Perry Rueckert of Shawano; Rebecca (William) Marohl of Shawano; great-grandson, Bryce Marohl; brother, Laverne (Kathleen) Weishoff of Manitowoc; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loren Griswold of Bonduel; Gerald (Gloria) Blom of Green Bay; Doug (Vivian) Blom of Ft. Atkinson; Leila Skorczewski of Green Bay and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Mary Elyn Griswold; grandson, Mic Montour; sister-in-law, Sally (Ralph) Reeves and foster brother, Jan Skorczewski. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating.
