Swortz, Jason P.

Jason P. Swortz, of Waupaca, age 31, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, as a result of a car accident. He was born in Waupaca, on December 9, 1978, to Ken and Cheri (Mech) Swortz. Jason graduated from Waupaca High School and had attended UW-Stout. He won the M.V.P. in soccer his senior year. He played hockey, loved to snowboard, fishing and swimming with his dog. He had a great love for music and live concerts. He was a great Texas Hold’em player. Jason also backpacked through Europe. He was very artistic and enjoyed painting. He will be sadly missed by his parents: Ken and Cheri of Waupaca; brother: Michael (Brenda) of Appleton; sister: Alissa Swortz of Waupaca; paternal grandpa: Ernest Swortz of South Chicago Heights, IL; maternal grandparents: Madalyn “Pat” and Emil Mech of Port Edwards; nephews: Trenton and Ronni, nieces: Kayla, Keneesha (Eric) Accord and their daughter: Ella; aunts and uncles: Michael J. Swortz, Terrence (Kathy) Mech, Susan (Larry) Sholes, Linda (Richard) Bender, Mary (Tom) Green, Toni (Todd) Joosten, Michelle (Steve) Aldridge, his dog: D.O., other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandma: Lillian Swortz. The funeral service was on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home with Father James Vennix officiating. The visitation was on Monday at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
