Bulldogs unable to mount comeback against Freedom

FREEDOM – The Bulldog Boys Varsity Basketball team came into their first game of the season with a whole new group of athletes starting in several key positions. All five starters from last year graduated last May.

At Freedom the Bulldogs were able to put points on the board but fell short 51-55 to the Irish. New London led at the end of the first quarter, but were unable to hold the lead. The Bulldogs were down by at least 10 points in the late fourth quarter and started to comeback, but fouls and missed free throws in the final minutes put the game in the books.

Two New London players were in double digits. Sophomore Guard Chris Steingraber led the way with 15 followed by senior Tyler Listle with 14.

The Bulldogs traveled to Oconto Falls Tuesday and will host Marinette Friday night.
