Friemark, Alvin

Alvin Anthony Friemark, “Shorty”, age 82, of Dale, passed away on November 22, 2010, at St. Joseph Residence in New London, He was born on April 23, 1928, in New London, the son of the late Charles and Edith (Kronsor) Friemark. On August 22, 1953, he was united in marriage to Betty Louise Zehner. Alvin served his country in the United States Army from 1951- 1952. He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad for 38 years until his retirement in 1988. Alvin was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, New London.. He was also a member of the American Legion Post of New London. Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially playing cards (sheepshead) with family and friends. Alvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty, a son, Vince (Lanette) Friemark, daughters, Valerie (Dan) Peeters, Victoria (Scott) Nelson, Veronica (Steve) Koske. Grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Long, Adam (Aleah) Friemark, Jordan (Katie) Friemark, Luke Friemark, Travis Koske, Nathan Koske, Nichole (Matt) Mohr, Philip Nelson, Bart Nelson, Bart Nelson, Ben Nelson. Great grandchildren, Anne Marie Long, Alison Long, Jack Friemark and Laura Friemark, Kayleigh Mohr, Jacob Mohr. He is further survived by a sister, Anita (Clarence) Bungert, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Arden, a brother, Donald and his wife Betty Friemark, a brother, Myron Friemark, a sister, Margaret and husband Sylvester Menting, a sister, Dorothy and husband David Zehner and an infant sister, Marie Ann Friemark. Funeral Mass for Alvin was held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Dale. Visitation was held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
