A cold fourth quarter hurt the Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team Tuesday, Dec. 14, as the Thunderbirds hit only one of nine shots in the fourth quarter of a 40-39 nonconference loss to Auburndale.
The T-Birds led 11-6 after one quarter, but the Apaches cut the lead to 16-14 at halftime. The teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 32-32 and Auburndale outscored the home team 8-5 over the final eight minutes.
Lucas Albers led I-S with 14 points, while Bradly Hardel and Jordan Beyersdorf added nine and eight, respectively.
