Ryan, Anthony James

Anthony James Ryan, of King, age 71, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 13, 2010 at his home. He was born in the Town of Farmington on December 17, 1938, the son of the late James A. and Margaret C. (Riemer) Ryan. After graduating in 1956 from Waupaca High School he joined the U.S. Air Force and served most of his 4 years at Ellsworth AFB in S.D. as a radar operator. In 1962 he married Darlene Robbert in Waukegan, IL and they had two daughters. He retired from Filter Materials after 31 years in 2001. Tony lived to go deer hunting and just gave up ice fishing in the last few years. For many years Tony was a member of EAA and attended many air shows and also was a lifetime member of the Waupaca Humane Society. Tony is survived by his wife: Darlene; daughters: Colleen (Stephen) Howard Sr. of Green Bay; and Dawn Ryan of Knoxville, TN; brother: Michael (Estella) Ryan of King; sisters: Jean Jensen and Janet Johnson of Waupaca; brother-in-law: Marlyn “Lee” (Lynn) Robbert of Fremont; sisters-in-law: Donna (Thomas) Lind of Benton City, WA; Gloria “Lori” Gunderson of Waupaca and Mavis (J.R.) Siegler of WI; He is further survived by his aunts: Evelyn Ryan of Waupaca and Marie Rudolph, WI, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and his cat, Puddin’Tat. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Widucki, brothers-in-law, Norman Widucki, Harlan “Tick” Jensen and DuWayne Robbert. Per Tony’s wishes no formal funeral service was held. There was a visitation on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. Burial was in Lind Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Waupaca Humane Society or a charity of your choice in Tony’s name.
