Krause, Janet

Janet Krause, age 92, New London; died on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. Janet was born on September 13, 1918, in New London, daughter of the late Edward and Emma Steingraber. She graduated from New London High School in 1937. On September 7, 1940, she married David H. Freiburger, after his death in WWII, Janet married Robert J. Krause on February 16, 1950. She worked as a beautician in New London (BethAnn’s) and for 17 years as a school bus driver for the Manawa School District. She loved traveling, theater, arts & crafts, was an avid Packer fan and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Sue (Mike) Fitzpatrick, Chilton; Kris (Gary) Lettau, Waupaca; sons, David (Rachel) Freiburger, Appleton and James (Sue) Krause, Manawa; a sister, Lois (Floyd) Huebner, Casa Grande, AZ. Ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive Janet. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, Ward and Ken, a sister, Ethel, and a son, Bobbie. At Janet’s request, private family services will be held on Thursday, December, 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the main chapel in the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home, King. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Stordock Hall’s activity department where Janet participated in a variety of activities.
