Shiocton snapped the Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team’s two-game winning streak by handing the Thunderbirds a 57-50 loss Friday, Jan. 21, in Iola.

The T-Birds outscored the Chiefs 10-6 in the first quarter, but Shiocton tied the game at 19-19 at halftime with a 13-9 advantage in the second quarter.
The Chiefs outscored I-S 19-17 in the third quarter and 19-14 over the final eight minutes.
Jordan Beyersdorf led the T-Birds with a game-high 17 points, while Lucas Albers chipped in with 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Shane Kanaman led Shiocton with 12.
The T-Birds will host Manawa at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, before heading to Rosholt Tuesday, Feb. 1, for a nonconference matchup with the Hornets.
