Zabel, Wayne R.

Wayne R. Zabel, age 78, of West Bloomfield, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 17, 2011 at his home. He was born on August 27, 1932 in the Town of Lind, the son of the late Vernon and Cora (Bartel) Zabel. Wayne served his country in the US Army and was proud to have served in Korea. He was employed by Struck Lumber and later at Faulks Brothers Construction until retiring. Wayne was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind. He enjoyed hunting, walking and fishing. Wayne is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Loretta), Omro and Wilbur (Barbara), Appleton; three sisters, Janice (Leland) Miller, Appleton; Phyllis (Gary) Schroeder, Greenville; and Carol (Billy) Schoenick, Fremont; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Rev. H. William Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in Lind Center Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday at the Lewin Funeral Home, from 10:00 Am until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind.
