County, AARP offer tax help to seniors

Kathy Austin, a benefit specialist for Waupaca County, and AARP volunteers will help seniors file their 2010 Homestead Tax Credit and income tax returns at area senior centers.

Only those who resided for a full year in Wisconsin in 2010, either owners or renters, qualify for the Homestead Tax Credit. The credit is also only available to those whose household income is under $24,680.

There is no charge for this service.

Tax assistance is available at the following times and locations:

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, Clintonville Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, New London Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 10, Iola Senior Center at Living Oaks (tax credit only).

?10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 15, American Legion Hall, Weyauwega (tax credit only).

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, Waupaca Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, Marion Senior Center (tax credit only).

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, Waupaca Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, New London Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, Marion Senior Center.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, Little Wolf Town Hall, Manawa.

?10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, Clintonville Senior Center.
