The Clintonville Trucker wrestling team wrestled the Little Chute Mustangs last Thursday evening, losing 49-24. Clintonville had to forfeit two of their weight classes going into the competition.
At 135 pounds, Jesse Huggins pinned Mike Lyons (Little Chute) in 1:38.
At 145 pounds, Exavier Dimick pinned Alton Kruckenburg (Little Chute) in 3:56.
At 189 pounds, Jake Reiter defeated Andrew Urbanas (Little Chute) 4-1 (2OT).
At 285 pounds, Mark Butterbrodt pinned Brandon Elrick (Little Chute) in 1:15.
At 130 pounds, Ty Plumb defeated Jason Ebben (Little Chute) 8-2.
Thursday’s dual ended the conference duals for the year. The Clintonville Truckers ended their season with a 5-3 record in conference duals. Before entering next weekend’s conference tournament the Truckers will be holding fourth place in the standings.
Sturgeon Bay (4th Annual Dirk Sorenson Door County Classic)
The Clintonville Trucker’s wrestling team traveled to the 4th Annual Dirk Sorenson Door County Classic last weekend with six wrestlers in the line-up. With only six wrestlers scoring team points, the Truckers managed to place seventh out of 17 teams in the tournament.
At 130 pounds, Ty Plumb defeated Jacob Dahlke (Shiocton) 4-0 in the quarterfinals. Plumb later lost to Joseph Her (Two Rivers) 15-1 in the semi-finals and Colin Schubert (Southern Door) 7-4 for third place.
At 135 pounds, Jesse Huggins pinned Alex Pipp (Ashwaubenon) in 4:38 in the quarterfinals. Huggins later lost to Tyler Wagner (Southern Door) in the semi-finals and he defeated Tim Schumann (Oshkosh West) 19-4 for third place.
At 140 pounds, Exavier Dimick pinned Nolan Wagner (Southern Door) in 0:57 in the quarterfinals. Dimick later lost to Marshall Pennings (Green Bay Preble/East) 4-2 (OT) and he defeated Todd Smith (Menasha) 7-2 for third place.
At 145 pounds, Garret Cunningham lost to Erick Pawelski (Southern Door) 9-2 in the quarterfinals. Cunningham later defeated Cody Strak (Union Grove) 5-3 in the Consolation round 1 and he lost to Zech Riehl (Shiocton) 15-0 in the Consolation round 2.
At 189 pounds, Jake Reiter pinned Josue Gonzalez (Shiocton) in 1:00 in the quarterfinals. Reiter later defeated Phil Kostka (Pacelli) 3-2 in the semifinals and was pinned by Brian Duerschmidt (Two Rivers) in 4:49 in the finals.
At 285 pounds, Mark Butterbrodt pinned Justin Hayward (Ashwaubenon) in 1:31 in the quarterfinals. Butterbrodt later was pinned by Zeek Hooyman (Menesha) in 0:14 in the semifinals and he pinned Donald Vanden Hueval (Menominee Indian) in 2:21 for third place.
