Knight, Minnie V.

Minnie V. Knight, Age 84, New London, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Minnie was born in Symco on March 23, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Fuhs) Osterling. On November 13, 1945, Minnie married Gerold Knight in Montana. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was formerly a waitress at Bucky’s Restaurant, New London and at the Merrimac, Waupaca until retiring in 2007. Minnie loved the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling and deer hunting. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, singing and babysitting. She was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. Minnie is survived by two brothers, Joseph (Carlene) Osterling, King and Bob (Bette) Osterling, Ogdensburg. Her special friend, Delores Heineman, Hortonville. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters: Dorothy, Mildred, June, and Jeanette and three brothers: Frank, Edwin and John. Funeral services for Minnie were held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial will be in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New London. Visitation was held at the church on Friday from 12 Noon until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Emanuel Lutheran Church.
