Peterson, Bruce R.

Bruce R. “Bac” Peterson, 58, Appleton, went to heaven doing what he loved, sturgeon spearing. Only way too soon. He was born in New London, WI to the late Robert and Corrine (Schroeder) Peterson. Bruce served two years in the United States Army stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an executive engineer at the Holiday Inn, Appleton for 25 years; and leaves behind many friends there. Bac had many joys which include: bow hunting, going to the cabin with Steve, sturgeon spearing and walleye fishing. Most important was having his grand babies over night as much as possible and giving them anything they wanted. He was also an avid Packer and Nascar fan. He will be greatly missed by his loving son, Jason Peterson; his soul mate and the love of his life, Diane (Kuba) Kiesow; his precious and enormously loved and spoiled grandbabies: Patricia, Samantha and Colten Neiland and Payton Willenkamp; brothers: Tom and Todd; a sister, Jean (Mike) Schiesser; nieces and nephews: Kody Peterson, Jesse (Tiffany) Peterson, Angie Rolewski, Ashley Schiesser and Mike Schiesser; three great nieces. He is also survived by his extended kids: Brian Willenkamp, Laura and Jason Neiland and Paul and Aishling Willenkamp; his best friends: Steve, Joe, Paige and Shawn. Funeral services for Bruce were held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the American Legion Post #38 on College Ave. Friends visited the family from 3 – 6 pm prior to the service. Military Honors will be performed by Post #38 following the services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
