Comets drop pair of EVC games

The Waupaca Comet baseball team dropped recent Eastern Valley Conference games to Fox Valley Lutheran and Little Chute.

FVL defeated the Comets 3-0 Monday, April 25, while Little Chute picked up a 6-3 win Thursday, April 21.

FVL 3, Waupaca 0

APPLETON – Ryan Radue held the Comets to one hit and went the distance to pick up the win for the Foxes.

FVL scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on back-to-back doubles and a pair of sacrifice flies.

Kevin Moe took the loss for Waupaca.

Little Chute 6, Waupaca 3

WAUPACA – Two Comet errors in the second inning led to five unearned runs for the Mustangs.

Little Chute also scored a run in the top of the first. Waupaca’s runs came in the first, fifth and sixth.

Casey Nicewander had two of Waupaca’s seven hits, including a double. Seth Deuman took the loss on the mound.

The Comets are scheduled to host Freedom at 4:30 p.m. today (Thursday, April 28) and will host a doubleheader with Winneconne Saturday, April 30. First pitch is slated for 10:30 a.m.
