Wilson charged with domestic violence

Daniel P. Wilson, 31, New London, was charged April 19 with two counts of battery, two counts of disorderly conduct, strangulation and felony intimidation of a witness.

On the evening of Sunday, April 17, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Studzinski met with a woman who reported that Wilson had beaten her that day and the prior day, and that she feared the violence was escalating.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman reported that Wilson had become angry on Saturday after the father of her children was late picking them up. He allegedly pushed her down, then later dragged her into the bathroom where he threatened to drown her in the bathtub.

The woman left the home on Saturday night, then returned Sunday morning. The couple began arguing again. Wilson allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and slammed her head into the floor.

Wilson faces up to six years in prison if convicted of strangulation.
