Trucks beat FVL, Xavier; lose to Comets

The Trucker varsity baseball team has gone 2-2 to start the month of May, earning a 12-4 victory over Fox Valley Lutheran (FVL) on Monday, May 2, and another win against Xavier, 12-11, on Thursday, May 5. Clintonville lost two games to Waupaca by scores of 3-8 and 5-8.

Patrick VanDaalwyk earned the win, while Mike Hogen and Kolin Kubitz carried the offense. Hogen had a double and 3 RBI, while Kubitz went 3×3 with a home run, double, and 4 RBI.

Xavier 11

Jake Riemer took the mound for the Truckers and earned a win in a high-scoring affair. Riemer helped his own cause by going 2×4 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI, while Garrick Morgan hit for a triple and 3 RBI. Hogen was 2×4 with a double, while Joe Hauser and Adam Weatherwax both went 2×4 as well. Weatherwax had a double and 2 RBI.

Austin Paisar took the loss on the mound, while Riemer, Hogen and Hauser led the offense. Riemer had a double, while Hogen was 2×4 and Hauser went 2×3.

Riemer was handed a loss in Clintonville’s second meeting with Waupaca. Morgan led the offense with a double, while Hogen and Paisar each went 2×4. Hogen also had a double to add to the offense.
