Hintzke, Elaine E.

Elaine E. Hintzke, age 91, was welcomed into heaven with her family by her side on June 11, 2011. She was born on May 27, 1920, to the late Bill and Ruth Knapp. Elaine, along with her husband John of 70 years, farmed and drilled wells in the New London area for many years. She worked at Hamilton’s Pickle Factory and Larsen’s Canning Company until retirement. She enjoyed traveling, gambling, and playing cards with friends and family. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet. Her family will long remember her for her sense of humor. She was a lifetime member of Maple Creek Homemakers and of Most Precious Blood Church, New London.

Elaine is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Judy Jensen, La Crosse; three sons, Jim (Jeanne), New London; Snap (Sharon), New London and Jan (Anita), Altoona. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 1/2 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; a sister Betty, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jay, and two sisters, Ramona and La Verne.
The family would like to extend their thanks to St. Joseph Residence and Heartland Hospice.
The funeral Mass for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. a 7:30 prayer service will be held. Visitation will also be held at the church Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
