Stelzner, Nolan ?Stubby?

Nolan “Stubby” Stelzner, age 74, of Weyauwega, passed away at his residence with his loving family by his side, early Thursday morning, June 23, 2011. He was born on December 20, 1936, in Waushara County, son of the late Walter and Edna (Beyer) Stelzner. Nolan proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. On May 25, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sharon Schoeman in Weyauwega where they lived, farmed and raised their four sons for the past 48 years. He was employed with the Weyauwega Co-op for 46 years until he retired. Nolan started the Weyauwega Ducks Unlimited Chapter and was the chairman for 24 years. He served on the Weyauwega Town Board for 10 years from 1999-2009. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Town of Weyauwega Rural Fire Department for 33 years and also served as a fire warden. He was an active member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega, the Weyauwega Lions and Weyauwega Conservation Club. Stubby was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting deer and ducks, but fishing was his greatest love.

Nolan is survived by his four sons: David Stelzner, Douglas (special friend Rae) Stelzner, Duane (Sue Genske) Stelzner, Daniel (fiancee’ Sue) Stelzner; sister Carolyn (Ken) Halverson; brother: Bryan (special friend Shawn) Stelzner; grandchildren: Brandon, Nicholas, Nathan, A.J., Dalton, Kendra, Randy and Nathan; great-grandchildren, and also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Robin (Morrison) Stelzner.
The Christian Funeral for Nolan will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank Dave Meyer for his care and concern of Nolan.
