Waupaca County Highway Department employees worked to remove a fallen tree across Big Eddy Road in the Township of Mukwa Monday evening, after a thunderstorm moved through the area. The fallen tree caused damage to one of the fishing platforms on the Wolf River Sturgeon Trail. The storm was also responsible for a lighting strike on the Handschke property off of Bean City Road. Pieces of the struck tree could still be seen Tuesday morning, strewn about the yard, along with some large limbs in the driveway.
