Paul R. Reese, 57, Weyauwega, was charged Aug. 12 with two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of physical abuse of a child.
The district attorney’s office filed a second criminal case against him Aug. 29, charing him with two more counts of sexual assault of a child.
On Aug. 11, Weyauwega Police Officers Adam Rogge and Brandon Leschke were dispatched to a home on the 700 block of Alfred Street.
According to the criminal complaint, a 14-year-old boy said he had been at Reese’s home on Ann Street when they began arguing over the way the boy had cleaned the house. Reese allegedly pushed the boy down and the boy got up and began swinging at Reese.
The boy reported that Reese had grabbed him by the neck, pulled his hair and slammed his head against the wall.
While the police were investigating the child abuse complaint, a 13-year-old girl reported that Reese had sexually assaulted her. She presented the officers an audio recording on her cellphone of an incident that occurred on Aug. 10. In the recording, the girl could be heard pleading to someone to stop and that he was hurting her. A male voice could be heard telling her to be quiet, the criminal complaint says.
The girl also told Rogge that Reese had tried to rape her.
On Aug. 17, a second girl told Rogge that Reese had touched her inappropriately.
The girl, who was 15 at the time of the alleged incident, said Reese had been watching her and her brother while her parents went out on Sept. 18, 2010. She said that night, she developed a pain in her foot and aksed Reese to take her to the doctor. After they left the house, Reese drove to a dead end road, stopped the car and gave the girl two pills that were supposed to alleviate the pain, according to the criminal complaint. He then drove her ack home and allegedly told the girl he had given her sleeping pills.
The girl told Rogge that she woke up at about 2:30 a.m. and Reese had his hand in her pants. She cried out and he left her bedroom.
Reese faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault.
