Gast Jr., Herman W.

Herman W. Gast Jr., age 81 of New London passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center. Herman was born on July 9, 1930 in Clintonville to Herman and Emma (Zahn) Gast Sr. He was married to Marlys L. Bruss from 1954 to 1963. During that time they ran a dairy farm and he was employed at FDW Corp. in Clintonville. He then relocated to Milwaukee and was employed at GPF. Later was hired at Peter Cooper and started Herman’s Carpentry in Franklin, WI. His hobbies include: dancing, playing cards, antique collector, bowling, boating and watching high school and college baskeball. Herman was also an avid Brewers and Packers fan. Herman met Dorothy (Malueg) Kotlarz in Milwaukee and was his companion until her death in 2007. Survivors include three children: Cindee (Gast) Cieslinski and John of Milwaukee, Cheryl (Gast) Leach and Rick of Fremont, Cathy (Gast) Wied and Dennis of Clintonville. Eight grandchildren: Patrick Cieslinski, Michael, Meghan and Melissa Jannusch, Adam, Kyle, Alex and Maloree Wied. One great grandson Wyatt Jannusch. He is further survived by one brother Wilbert Gast. He was preceded in death by companion Dorothy Kotlarz, daughter Nancy Rae, parents Herman Sr and Emma, two brothers Victor and Walter, twin sisters Doris and Dorothy. Graveside service for family only was held Wednesday, September 7, at Graceland Cemetery. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family.
