Hanneman, Dennis V.

Dennis V. Hanneman, of Waupaca, age 61, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 31, 2011, with family by his side. He was born in Iola, WI on June 24, 1950 to Victor and Katheryn (Peskie) Hanne-man. He was united in marriage to Shirley Beach on October 16, 1971 and they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed bowling and golfing, and had a passion for hiking. He especially enjoyed trips out west to Glacier National Park. Dennis was a wonderful family man, supporting all of his children in their activities. He lived on the family homestead on the Waupaca River where he himself was raised as a child. It was there where he fell in love with the outdoors and enjoyed tubing down the river with his family. His granddaughters had a special place in his heart. Dennis will be dearly missed by: his wife, Shirley; children: Shari Hanneman (Michael Kurtz), Plover, Tera Hanneman, Appleton, and Paul Hanneman, Wau-toma; grandchildren: Brittany and Ashley Spencer, Katheryn Kurtz; sisters: Linda (Simon) Hughes, England and Kathy Hanne-man, Oak Creek; father and mother-in-law: Erwin and Isabel Beach, Waup-aca; niece: Jennifer Carroll; nephews: Kurt Hanneman, Steven, Nathan, and Patrick Colgrove. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Vicky Hanneman. The Funeral Mass was held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Visitation was held Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, where there was a 4 p.m. prayer service. Visitation was also held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
