Horse & Buggy Days Saturday

The 51st annual Horse & Buggy Days will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, in downtown Weyauwega.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. It will feature horses, wagons, buggies, tractors and buggies.

The lineup will take place at the Waupaca County Fairgrounds before heading down Elizabeth Street to Main Street, with the parade route ending at Mary Street.

After the parade, a disc jockey will play music, and people will be able to meander downtown where restaurants will sell food, businesses will be set up on the sidewalk, and vendors will also be selling their items.

Several other events will take place on Saturday, in conjunction with Horse & Buggy Days.

A teacher will share learning from days gone by in the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum from noon to 1 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. The museum is located in the community park.

The Weyauwega Area Historical Society will host a cemetery walk from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery. Organizers are asking for a $2 donation from adults. The cemetery walk will portray people who a contributed to the development of Weyauwega.

Visitors can feel drive their vehicles or walk to the cemetery after the Horse & Buggy Days parade. Snacks and Refreshments will be available for sale by the main entrance.
