Lubeck, Ardella M.

Ardella Margaret Alma (Kempf) Lubeck of Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 87, was called to rest after complications from emergency surgeries on Sunday Oct. 2, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born at home on January 7, 1924 in East Bloomfield Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Erich and Hattie (Behm) Kempf. Confirmed on March 21, 1937 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield, WI, Ardella completed 8th grade and then stayed home to raise her younger siblings after the death of their mother. On April 6, 1947, Ardella married Edgar L. Lubeck at Emmaus Lutheran Church in the town of Lind, where they were lifetime members. Edgar and Ardella farmed in the Town of Saxeville for 38 years where they raised 6 children. Ardella is survived by her children Thomas (Susan), Livonia, MI; Sally (Butch) Owen, Fremont, WI; Patricia Lubeck, Fremont, WI; Joy (Jerry) Kobiske, Fremont, WI; and Russell, Weyauwega, WI. Grandchildren include Tim Lubeck, Peoria, IL; Kristen (Michael) McCormick, Ridgefield, CT; Lt. Gregory Lubeck, Camarillo, CA; Jessicah (Andy) Bartel, Fremont, WI; Ashley (Derick) Bielmeier, Appleton, WI; Lee (Tanya) Morey, Little Chute, WI; Marcia Morey, Eden Prairie, MN; Lindzey Kobiske, Madison, WI; and Jonas and Logan Kobiske, Fremont, WI. She is also survived by sister-in-law Eunice Kempf, Weyauwega, WI; brother-in-law Robert (Marsha) Lubeck, Vesper, WI; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Ardella was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lubeck ,infant daughter Karen, son Kevin, brothers, sisters and in-laws: Hildegard (Louis) Robbert, Marvin (Marion) Kempf, Arden Kempf, Dorothy Lubeck, Elaine (Arlin) Pruess, and Arlyn (Gay) Kempf. Ardella’s life was dedicated to her family; her famous homemade bread, buns and coffee cake at holiday feasts will be celebrated forever by her children and grandchildren. They also marveled at her ability to play piano “by ear”, grow beautiful flowers and gardens, piece lovely quilts and spend countless hours reading to her grandchildren. Ed and Ardella loved to polka, travel and enjoyed trying new restaurants. Unfortunately, a devastating stroke caused Ardella to spend the last 12+ years in a wheelchair and without the ability to speak. She remained cheerful and determined and spent her days brightening the lives of others at Bethany Home, Waupaca. Although she suffered tragic losses within her lifetime, Ardella lived to be the sole remaining sibling in her family. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed. Funeral services for Ardella were held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Emmaus Lutheran Church, N180 County Rd. A, Waupaca. Rev. H. William Jordan officiated. Burial is in Lind Center Cemetery. Visitation was held on Wednesday, at the church, from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
