Montgomery, Peggy

Peggy Montgomery, Weyauwega, Wisconsin, age 72, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. She was born April 16, 1939 in Chicago, IL; daughter of Frank and Margaret (Enk) Rowley. On June 1, 1963, Peggy married Robert Montgomery at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Peggy was currently working as a CNA at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, and in previous years had been employed at Waupaca Woods Pharmacy and Prange Way. Prior to working out of the home, she was a full-time wife and mother, and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the saddle club where she participated in barrel racing, a Cub Scout den mother, and a long-time speed skating coach and president where she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up speed skating. She never missed attending any of her children’s or grandchildren’s many activities that they were involved in. Peggy was a member of the Wisconsin Speed Skating Association, a 4-H Leader, a Waupaca FFA alumni member, and a Marine Corps mom for two of her sons. She was an avid animal lover where she was a beef superintendent at the Waupaca Co. Fair and was a member of the Waupaca Co. Large Market Animal Committee. Peggy will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. Peggy is survived by: Her Loving Husband: Robert Montgomery of Weyauwega, WI; Children: Scott Montgomery of Waupaca, WI; Retired GySgt Brent (Marlene) Montgomery and their children, Marshall, Gavin, Valerie, and Melinda of Waupaca, WI; Bridget Montgomery-Hamm and her children, Cameron, Kyle, and Collin of Waupaca, WI; Kirk (Bobbie Jo) Montgomery and their children, Erin, Logan, and Lindsey of Waupaca, WI; Tammy (David) Wohlt and their children, Megan and Eddie of Fremont, WI; Two Brothers: George (Martha) Rowley of Waupaca, WI; Frank (Candy) Rowley, II of Chicago, IL. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Rowley; a sister, Charlotte Walsh; and a son-in-law, Mark Hamm. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Dr. Charles L. Tews will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, Oct. 14, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home and also from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home on Saturday. Burial will be at Baldwins Mill Cemetery in the Town of Royalton following the service on Saturday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
