Raymond, Leona A.

Leona A. Raymond, age 93, of Menasha passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Sterling House in Neenah. Leona was born in the Town of Farmington, Waupaca County on June 21, 1918, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Anderson) Rasmussen. On January 23, 1946, Leona married Roger Raymond at the Main Chapel in King. She worked for many years at the Banta Co. and was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha. Leona is survived by her children: Sandra (Gerald) Schulz, Appleton; Roger Raymond, Menasha and Shirley Raymond, Oshkosh; her seven grandchildren: Erika (Matt) Nygaard; Jillian (Brad) Nampel; Jared Raymond; Dana (Nick) Messenger; Derek (Kari) Schulz; Heath Lehman and Sam (Heather) Knorr. Leona is further survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger in 1978. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, October 19 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Reverend David Skarsten, officiating. Burial followed in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was on Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Leona’s family would especially like to thank Sterling House Assisted Living and Asera Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to Leona. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
