Harold was born on June 19, 1920 to the late Ole and Nettie (Strand) Wolberg in Helvetia, Wisconsin. He was raised in the Iola area and attended Langdok grade school through 8th grade and farmed with his parents for 30 years. He was united in marriage to Alice Jeanette Aasen on September 29, 1951 and recently celebrated their 60 their anniversary. Alice and Harold met while they were members of the Hitterdahl Lutheran church choir. After his marriage, he and Alice moved to Iola and Harold began work as a plumber. In 1976 he obtained his Master Plumber’s license and subsequently started his own business, Modern Plumbing, which he continued with until his retirement. Harold became a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola where he participated in the church choir, served as President of the congregation, ushered, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed being involved in the “Men’s Breakfast” and “Birthday Club” for many years. Harold was especially proud of his Norwegian heritage and enjoyed every opportunity to speak in that language with friends. He was devoted to his immediate and extended family. During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and working crossword puzzles. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and caring man who was always willing to talk to anyone about anything. Harold is survived by his wife, Alice, his children Linda and Michael Aubey, of Cedar Rapids, IA., and Bruce and Sandy Wolberg of Iola; his sister, Evelyn Hanson of Stevens Point, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Margaret Sowers, Helen Boe and Jeanette Anderson
