Longrie, Dora B.

Dora B. Longrie, age 97, New London, passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2011, unexpectedly in her sleep. She was born November 28, 1913, in Shepley (Shawano County), to the late Edward and Dorothy (Fritz) Roth. She lived all her adult years in New London. Dora married Llewellyn Longrie on October 15, 1935 and had one daughter. They enjoyed many years at their cottage at Bear Lake. Dora enjoyed gardening and started most of her plants by seed. She had a “Green Thumb” and everything grew. Dora is survived by her daughter, Gwen Benotch, New London and her special friend, Larry. A sister-in-law, Frances Dexter, New London. Three step grandsons, Bob Benotch, Mark (Donna) Benotch and Bruce (Beth) Benotch, one step granddaughter, Kim Benotch, seven step great-grandchildren, and three step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Llewellyn, son-in-law, Don Benotch, two sisters, Ella and Grace, many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Trinity Terrace for their wonderful care and compassion and to special friends: Larry Young, Harland and Vidas Voigt, Gordy Schmidt, Justin and Amanda Schmidt, Beverly Steibel, Carol Shepardson , Jerry Vanderzanden, Judy Gorges and Gordy and Corinne Conat. Funeral services for Dora were held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial is in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation was held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
