Boese, Beata Doris

Beata Doris Boese, age 92, of New London, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She was born on December 7, 1918 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Ralph and Frieda (Beutler) Restle. She moved to New London with her family in 1927. She was a graduate of Emanuel Lutheran School in 1932 and from Washington High School in 1936. On June 16, 1937, she was united in marriage to Bernhardt Boese and they celebrated 70 years of marriage together until the Lord called Ben home in March of 2008. Beata was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and taught Kindergarten at Emanuel Lutheran School for two years. She worked with the hot lunch program at Emanuel for 26 years. She also was on the election board for many years. She served as president of the Ladies Aid for two terms. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Fox Valley Lutheran High School for many years. She arranged and prepared cards for members of Emanuel who had reached their 80th birthday and to couples who celebrated 50 years of marriage. She loved playing bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing and she knitted many afghans for her family whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her children: Steven (Mary) Boese, Yuma, AZ. and Elcho, WI; Stuart “Skip” (Jane) Boese, New London; Debra (William) Vermeern, Appleton; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Greg) Osowski, Yuma, AZ; Scott (Katie) Boese, Albany, GA; Shannon (Nick) Kraftzenk, Appleton; Sarah (Andy) Wait, Yuma, AZ; Matthew Boese, Appleton; Katherine (Janis) Sils, Brooklyn, NY; Amanda (Leo)Sidran, Brooklyn, NY; 8 great-grandchildren: Samuel and Allison Ozowski, Jared and Aidan Kraftzenk, Aislinn and Laila Wait, Zelta Sils and Sol Parker Sidran. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother John and his wife Ruth, also her in-laws Carl and Johanna Boese. The Christian Funeral for Beata was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial is in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. Friends called directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may go to Emanuel Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
