Hammerberg, Helen

Helen (Harman) Hammerberg, 84, Green Bay, WI died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011. She was born July 9, 1927 in Pella, WI. She graduated from Washington High School in New London. On March 23, 1950 she married Stewart Hammerberg at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Helen was employed as the church secretary at Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay for 25 years. She is survived by one son, Knute (Joyce) Hammerberg, Owatonna, MN; a son-in-law, Doug Hanson, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Eric Hammerberg, Britt Hammerberg, Joshua Hanson, Nick Hanson and Heidi Hanson; and 2 great-grandchildren. Also her sister Lorraine Handschke and brother-in-law, Robert Hammerberg, New London. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kris Hanson and 2 sisters: Lucille Handschke and Marie Frederick. The Christian Service was held Sunday, Oct. 30 at Calvary Lutheran Church with burial in Floral Hill Cemetery.
