Oppor, Elmer F.

Elmer F. Oppor, age 91, of Ogdensburg, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2011. He was born on November 16, 1919, in the Town of Royalton, son of the late Frank and Pearl (Miller) Oppor. On June 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to Carla Beyer in Big Falls. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2001. Elmer then married Anita Borowski on September 7, 2002. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2010. He worked various farm jobs until 1947, when he went to work for the Waupaca County Highway Department as an equipment operator until his retirement. Elmer enjoyed traveling, polka music, playing the harmonica, and flea markets. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Weyauwega. He is survived by 5 step-sons: Irving (Marilyn) Miller, Gary (Luetta) Miller, Robert (Beth) Miller, Jon (Bonnie) Beyer and Jerry (Betty) Beyer; 2 step-daughters: Patricia (Dennis) Daniels and Candyce (Fred) Severson and also many step-grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law: Myra Oppor, Alice Hinds, Helen Miller and Polly Long. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Marlin Oppor, Clifford Oppor, Arnold Oppor, Earl Oppor and Russell Oppor; 2 sisters: Elsie Strebe and Evelyn Long; also an infant sister, Melanie Oppor. Special thanks to Candyce and Fred Severson for all the wonderful care and help they have done for him in the last couple years. The funeral service for Elmer was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Sherwood C. McKay Jr. officiating. Burial is in Ogdensburg Park Cemetery. The visitation for Elmer was held on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Cline-Hanson-Dahlke
