Peter, Shirley

Shirley Peter, age 84, New London, formerly of Hortonville, passed away on Monday, January 02, 2012. Shirley was born on September 13, 1927, in Wien Township, daughter of the late Robert and Irma (Borchardt) Syring. On May 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ernest Peter. He preceded her in death in 2006. Shirley was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by her seven children. She is survived by her children: Waldo (Rebecca) Peter, Black Creek; Bonnie (Roger) Gore, Black Creek; Mary (Larry) Maciejewski, Brillion; Rita (Merle) Olson, Shiocton; Joyce Peter and special friend Bill Zarek, Neenah; Mark (Carol) Peter, Burke, Virginia; James (Fran) Peter, Cascade; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert (Joann) Syring, Madison and a sister-in-law, Peggy Syring, Marshfield. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother Orville Syring. Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Bil Sutlief officiating. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, 209 W.
