A light snow fell and temperatures were in the 20s, but that didn’t stop people from ringing in the new year at the Polar Bear Plunge Sunday, Jan. 1, on Limekiln Lake.
Tom Joers of Waupaca was one of more than 50 people that ran in and out of the water for the 20th annual event.
The icy plunge took place during halftime of the Green Bay Packers game against the Detroit Lions.
The Wheelhouse donated proceeds from this year’s plunge to the Waupaca Area Fire Department.
