Truckers defeat Tigers, lose to Foxes

A 26-point first quarter propelled the Truckers to a 58-45 win over the Ripon Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The Truckers led 35-19 at halftime but were outscored 7-15 in the third quarter to allow the Tigers to narrow the deficit to eight points. Clintonville finished strong by outscoring Ripon 16-11 in the final frame.

Clintonville sank nine 3-point shots, as Jesse Brauer and John Schultz both hit three. Aaron Ziemer made two from beyond the arc, while Adam Weatherwax sank one from long range.

Schultz led Clintonville with 19 points, while Brauer added 14. Ziemer scored 10, and Weatherwax added nine. Xavier Fletcher tallied four points, while Kolin Kubitz scored a pair.

Fox Valley Lutheran 55, Clintonville 37

The Foxes jumped out to a 23-18 lead at halftime and blew the game open by outscoring Clintonville 18-5 in the third quarter.

Fletcher scored six to lead the Truckers, while Ziemer, Mike Fisher, Tyler Sawall and Nathaniel Krueger all scored four. Aaron Schmidt, Kubitz, and Keaton Anderson scored three each, as did John Schultz. Weatherwax added two, while Brauer scored one.

The Truckers play at home on Friday, Feb. 10, against Winneconne. Opening tip is set for 7:15 p.m.
