Hagen, Glen Vernon

Glen Vernon Hagen, age 88, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Beth-any Home. Glen was born in the Town of Alban, Portage County on January 14, 1924, the son of the late Hans and Julia (Lee) Hagen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Alban Lutheran Church. He served in the US Navy and on April 14, 1945 was married to Prudence Tobie at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evanston, IL. They moved back to Waupaca in 1946 and Glen worked at Don’s Construction Co. until retiring. He enjoyed fishing and was a very loving husband and father and enjoyed his family. Before his eyesight failed, he loved to read, do needlework and puzzles. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Glen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Prudence (Prudie) Hagen, Waupaca; his children: Judith Krenz, Waupaca; Jerry (Luann) Hagen, Waupaca and Jon (Pam) Hagen, Appleton; four grandchildren: Mary (Neil) Schulke; Jason (Holly) Hagen; Jessica (Jorge) Raasch and Laura Hagen and one great grandchild, Jadyn Schulke; a brother, Robert (Carol) Hagen, Mt. Horeb, WI and his sisters: June Spehn, Waupaca; Ruth (Robert) Pierce, Seneca, IL and Burnell (John) Morton, Verona, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 4 sisters, a grandson, Joshua Hagen, and brothers and sisters-in-law. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Reverend Jennifer DeNetz, officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the church.
